Hi Ok its been a while and for some reason cannot alter my weight, but I am now down below l3 stone which is great. I have been in and out of hospital, had four operations and am feeling well, still not brilliant to be honest. The weight loss is fab, and I couldnt be happier at seeing my body shrink, but I am left with constant burping which is not brilliant and I can only eat a tiny tiny amount (about a spoonful) or else I am sick which is lovely. Energy is at all time low and am prone to passing out which is a bit embarrasing, but to be honest would I opt out no, because nothing is as bad for me as being so overweight that I can't breathe properly or walk anywhere. debsxx

By the way surgery is on Tuesday this week at Charring Cross Hospital and will be in for about four five days, ok unless I cop it (apparently one in a hundred do) but I'm trying hard not to think about that aspect of it! - so will write until then - and then be back when I'm done. xx

Hi guys and thanks for the replies, support etc. I went out today and brought some food for next week - I will apparently be on liquids for two weeks, then pureed etc etc - I am scared as poo about next week, not sleeping etc, and my body has decided to throw in a bad head cold for good measure. - Carol, a year or so ago I wouldn't have even considered surgery, but I have tried and tested and read and done ever diet out there - I am a diet bore, but my will power which is fab for months on end does not last and I continue to get bigger and bigger, and inject more and more - the doc has said I should come out without having to inject, so thats fab before the weight loss.

I have to walk 30 mins min a day so by the summer I should be well up for walking, so fingers crossed.

I had my hair all cut off today into a bob, brought some zany new glasses and thought ok, this is it, my last weekend of being me without the surgery -

If its ok Iwill keep writing here, just to keep me sane really, I do appreciate all of you writing, and hope that each day is a step nearer for you to be where you want to be.

sending hugs and kisses

Debs--how you feeling about the surgery this week?
Will you be able to do the Moonwalk still? Check with your doc just to make sure you wont cause yourself any harm!
And take care...I know how hard the battle with weight is, if this is what you feel you need to do - talk to the Ab Fabbers and we can support you through it!!

I have thought about having a band but my doctor won't refer me. it seems unfair that if you smoke or drink you can get support but my gp just says eat less, exercise more. In theory yes, in practice I find it more difficult!

You seem quite down. I know the battle with weight is a long and tough slog but we can all do it. I have been overweight for most of my life too and at 39 I felt it was time to stop being so stupid. I am in control of me, not food. I started just after eating a lions share of the trifle on New Years day and so far so good. I have lost 5lb, not much but hey its a full bag of spuds! If you need some support, try here http://weight2gether.8.forumer.com we are only human.

Hi Deborah

well done for the weight lost so far - you know you can do it. My partner is over 24stone, and if he so much as thought of a gastric band I would lock him in a dark room until he got over it. Don't do it - why risk surgery and put your body through that kind of invasion and interference when you know that between your mind, your hand and your mouth you can lose the weight yourself. I lost three stone a few years ago through sheer hard work and I was so proud of myself. Like many people I have put a lot back on but now I have decided it's time to stop abusing myself and start sorting things out. No more dieting, just eating healthily, only two weeks and I feel better already. Walked for an hour on Sunday and nearly 2 hours today - early morning in the fresh air, listening to the birds and laughing at the squirrels! What could be better. My osteopath said keep up the lounging about and the sugar and in 10 years I will be crippled with back pain - I am only 37 and want to be healthy for a long time. The years go by so fast, and this year I am going to achieve fitness for myself and improve my quality of life. Why don't you do it for yourself as well and perhaps we can help each other. You've made a start - be proud of yourself and carry on.
Best wishes, Carol. P.s. I don't think you should torture yourself with wanting to be 10stone, you have a very beautiful face and I bet you don't need to be that thin.

Well I am mad at myself for yet again starting my diary with 'This year will be the
year that I will be slim again'

I have been up and down on the scales for years, either pretty thin or really overweight, and finally at 42 want to kick myself into shape. Am thinking of having a gastic band fitted and am actually on the list, so need to get my bum in gear both with regard to eating and getting fit.

I would love to meet people who would like to be motivated and also those out there who would like to motivate!

Ok, so come and say hi, debsx

I am 42 I work in a school as part of the pastrol support team and also work as a trauma/breavement therapist.

I had gastric by pass surgery in February and have lost quite a bit of weight. It wasn't an easy thing to do and I have had lots of problems but my weight is coming down and I am feeling more like the old me.

I have joined a gym but really want to start jogging, so if anyone lives around Hanwell in West London give me a shout - feel a bit silly going out on my own!

I do go to the gym which is great, and when I am feeling ok is great fun and I do come basck feeling better.

So about three stone or so to go which is great, then will see what life brings... xx

I love reading and watching documentaries, have three cats, one only a kitten, must be mad.

I would love to live near the sea, and will do one day soon.
new way of living and finally get to be me again.

Oh and I love people watching. having fun and being very silly. I especially love to roll down hills, and throw snow balls, I have brought healies but am waiting until the weight goes a bit before i test them out properly.

I am here to help you and to ask for help for me, I start out great on diets then lose my resolve.

Ok, hope to speak to you soon xx
